£5.2M EV charging infrastructure expansion across Southend-on-Sea
Opportunity snapshot
Estimated value
£5.2m
Evidence
Southend-on-Sea City Council seeks a contractor to install, own, operate and maintain EV charging points across the city, primarily targeting residents without off-street parking. The £5.17M project is backed by £1.448M LEVI funding with the contractor funding the remaining £3.7M.
This represents a significant concession-style opportunity where the contractor takes ownership and operational responsibility for the charging infrastructure, creating long-term revenue potential. The LEVI funding reduces upfront risk whilst the focus on residential charging addresses a key market gap. The contractor-funded model suggests strong revenue expectations from the charging network.
