T0548 Specification of the Reinstatement of Openings in Highways

The Department for Transport (the Department) seeks to produce a narrow scope update to the Specification for the reinstatement of openings in highways (hereafter known as the SROH). The SROH was last updated in 2020. The SROH sets out the technical standards to which utilities and their contractors must reinstate the road after carrying out street works. An update is required to set technical standards relating to the installation of cross pavement Electric Vehicle (EV) charging solutions. We envisage these standards will be set out in an addendum. The Department is also seeking expertise to address two industry queries around the current SROH. For the avoidance of doubt, the requirement refers to an updated online version only, not a printed copy.
