Evidence
Charger specification data exists for this tender but the relevance classifier did not detect charger-shaped evidence — the spec block is suppressed by default. Visible to admins below.
Ofgem commissioned a study on EV demand and electricity demand modelling to inform their review of how electric vehicles and vehicle-to-grid technologies impact the energy system, particularly distribution networks. The £80,000 contract was awarded to Cepa LLP for completion between March and April 2024.
This study directly addresses critical gaps in how the energy system models EV charging demand and V2G capabilities, moving beyond basic transport demand assumptions to consider EVs as responsive battery assets. The findings will likely influence Ofgem's regulatory approach to grid connection policies and network charging arrangements that affect CPOs and charging infrastructure deployment. Given Ofgem's regulatory authority, this research could shape future grid connection processes and flexibility market frameworks.
