The Scottish Procurement and Property Directorate are working with Transport Scotland to identify approaches, through collaborative procurement, to help secure value for money in the investment required to decarbonise the Scottish public sector fleet. We are now seeking views from market participants on how the Scottish public sector could best interact with the market to obtain electric vehicles and related infrastructure. As such we would welcome input from all market participants in response to the questions contained within the request for information attachment. Suppliers and other interested parties should be aware that the process is still at a very early stage. It is yet to be determined whether any collaborative procurement will be required, or the size and scope of any future collaborative procurement. If a collaborative procurement process is taken forward, the resulting procurement arrangement could be available to be used by all parts of the Scottish Public Sector: Local Authorities, the NHS, Emergency Services, Universities and Colleges and Scottish Central Government organisations and could also be available to charities and voluntary organisations. With reference to Section II.1.6), it has not yet been determined whether any future contract will be divided into lots. With reference to Section II.3), it has yet to be determined if any contract notice will be published. Suppliers and other interested parties should read and complete the attached request for information document and return it to Procurement_Utilities@gov.scot by 18 December 2020.
