In response to the Office for Low Emission Vehicles (OLEV) call for bids for the Ultra-Low Emission Vehicle (ULEV) Taxi Scheme, The City of Edinburgh Council is seeking a potential commercial partner to operate a network of Rapid 50kW electric vehicle chargers for the sole use of the taxi trade in Edinburgh. Overall this proposal represents an excellent opportunity for a commercial chargepoint operator to generate revenue and establish a presence in Edinburgh. The feasibility study and driver's surveys have indicated that there is a strong appetite amongst the taxi trade in Edinburgh to consider switching to ULEVs.
